Having a phobia to anything to do with the eyes (I have even crossed of eyes on my doner card) I find this most distressing, but would not stop anyone wanting the prosedure,having it done, as long as its not MY son or daughter!!! having said that, I have no idea how I would stop them if they wanted it done.

To me this eye thing sounds much more like the kind of thing rich bored 30 somethings, scared of aging (becoming boring old farts) might do, rather than rebellious teenagers. Sticking a safety pin through your ear had a bit of style as a gesture, but going to some high-priced whore of a pseudo-surgeon and getting this stuff done is a bit different.

I'd think Dick Greenhaus's notion of getting the same effect with a contact lense sounds much more likely to catch on. Rather the same way a lot of the pierced belly buttons going around aren't in fact pierced at all, I understand.

Who cast "dispersions"? All that was necessary to assess this issue maturely was to be old enough to have one of those defining moments where you look at an old picture of yourself and realize how ridiculous you used to look when you wore or did x. Sort of a been there, done that, threw away the tee shirt when it got too small sort of thing.

Oddly enough, I know several people who've not only not had their vision corrected from lasik surgery, they've lost their night vision and see halos during the day. No correction to their side effects possible. No one knows the long term impact of the surgery, either. But that's neither here nor there, we each assess the risks of life for ourselves.

From the safety stand point I'd agree that it would be better to have a decorated 0 correction contact lense. I've seen ones that make you look like you have cat's eyes and I thought the ones with the radiation symbol were pretty cool!

The jewelry option is more invasive and harder to reverse without leaving scar tissue on the eye. With all of the other options with decorating the face this one seems too small and expensive to bother with. I still like the idea of having eyes that glow in the dark. Maybe I can get a contact lense for that!
