Good idea Andy. I have already spoken to the landlord regarding a possible mudgather at some point later in the year. A monthly session in there would be a good idea...will look into it and post some suggestions!

My home computer is so antiquated it wouldn't download the pics but I viewed them at work. I think I was wearing a pheasant, but on that shirt (bought in Whitby for Jim Mageean's Wednesday session in the Endeavour) it's hard to tell!

Mrs Duck - Sorcha explained that the pheasant is the emblem of her home town, and she'd brought a bagful of pheasant lapel badges, which she distributed to all Catters present (preasant?). We all then dutifully recited "I'm not the pheasant plucker....."

I guess if Kendall has an emblem it's a walrus? (If in doubt, consult Chambers.)

Posted this on the other sorcha and kendall thread but hey here it goes again!

The session was wonderful and as Liz said the landlord wants us back!! So there will be a session in the Black Lion on Sunday 25th April from 7:30pm.

It was absolutely grand to see so many catters turn up to meet our American friends.

After the session a number of us came back to our place and continued conversations and drinking!

Pictures have been taken and will be posted soon!!

We had a great evening - just sorry we had to leave so early, but it's had got to be a long few days.

It was so good to put faces to all the familiar names - Kendall says that he will now know what you look like when he sees your posts. It was also good to meet familiar faces again.

The whole evening was just like a good family gathering, full of good feeling and love.

Mr Bryant - I'll treasure the badge you gave to me and just you remember - revenge.

Dave , you could drive in towards town and either cross by the Rotherhithe Tunnel or over Tower Bridge, they should only add about 3 and 5 miles respectively!!

From what I can gather, Blackwall Tunnel will be closed soutbound on Sunday night after 9pm. Originally the stoppages should have finished at the end of March, but I gather the the work is now being extended to August at least. Ah well another night when we'll have to drive all the way to Dartford Bridge (and the same distance back the other side - an extra 17 miles) - and pay a quid for the priviledge.

On the map that Nigel has so kindly linked to, the white square with blue border and letter P in it is the pub Car Park, right next to the Black Lion. the back Bar is in Rixhmond st side of the pub , its the last door before the archway, but you will probably hear us!!!

If I'm any judge of those who said they will be there it will be mostly singing, with a predominance of chorus songs both accompanied and unaccompanied. The content of a session is always defined by the performers actually there irregardless of whether it's supposed to be Irish trad, English Country, French, come-all-ye or whatever.

I, for one, will be there and hope to play a few tunes. I mostly play Irish but will happily play along with other styles to fit in with others.

Just suck it and see...

The pub has Guest Beers when we were in there on Friday there was Timothy Tailors Landlord, Curage Directors and Broadside I am sure there will be something there for people to drink...Hey if a Northern Lass like me can find a decent pint here I am pretty sure others can!

Liz....We will see what time the dinner party with some of the Ravens finishes ( and if we are in a fit state to walk!) and we might come over to the house session....as those of you who know what our dinner parties are like, they have been known to carry on well into the wee small hours of the morning!!!

Youngs and Fullers both brew a decent pint - And there are a few good small breweries too. And the pint ISNT all froth like some of the Northern beers.

There will be a session in the back bar of the Black Lion Pub in Plaistow East London from 7:30pm to welcome Sorcha to UK on Sunday 18th April.

It will be a mixed session....singing and instruments. Its a cosy pub and serves a decent pint.

It would be really nice to see as many catters as possible there and get Sorcha trip off on a good note!
