Subject: RE: Sheet music for tin whistle From: Big Mick Date: 07 Oct 10 - 04:14 PM I guess I should know this, but I don't. The pagan version referenced above, is it the older or is it a neo pagan version that took the shaker tune and wrote words that were compatible with their beliefs? Mick |
Subject: RE: Sheet music for tin whistle From: GUEST,Ebor_Fiddler Date: 07 Oct 10 - 05:40 PM Definitely neo, I'm afraid. The original "Lord of the Dance words were written bt St Sydney Carter in the early 1960's as a "Tomorrow shall be my Dancing Day" for the times. The original words are the "Gift to be Simple" ones with the dots. I don't know any more verses to htis. Does anyone else? Chris. |
