I was looking for Noggin Boots, (1st line "Oh for my boots, my noggin noggin boots, all gone for beer and tobacco") a sea shanty. And it tells me to try a fuzzy search, which I also can't figure out - so help on either topic is gratefully accepted.

Enter in All for me Grog, you'll find a close version to what you're looking for. I think there may have been a thread on this awhile back or maybe it was part of a thread. Barry

I've seen it under the title "Haul Away Joe".

"Haul away Joe" is usually a different family. Can somebody tell me about "noggin boots", by the way? I know about "nobby hats", which often turns up in the same song but never understood "noggin boots".

Regards

I always thought that it was a derivative of "noggie" which used to be a slang term for prep school in the UK. So "noggin' boots" were his old school/dress shoes. It's a stretch, so to speak, but its a possibility.

Rick
