Subject: Paper Music Rolls From: SINSULL Date: 15 Apr 04 - 06:42 PM I found four of these on sale at a local Goodwill store for $295/each. Dates circa 1930. I bought "Bell Bottom Trousers" but the others appear to be dance music. Does anyone collect these? I would be happy to get them for you. Any idea what they are worth? |

Subject: RE: Paper Music Rolls From: darkriver Date: 16 Apr 04 - 01:47 AM Sinsull, I'm assuming you mean $ 2.95, yes? I imagine what they're worth depends on their condition and what tunes they hold. There's a local store (Urban Ore) that sells recycled stuff, and they have scores of these. They sell them for five bucks each, so you got a deal (or maybe this is just another instance of how expensive the San Francisco Bay area is). Regards, doug |

Subject: RE: Paper Music Rolls From: GUEST,Lindswidder Date: 16 Apr 04 - 07:21 PM There used to be someone in Banbury, Oxfordshire, who made these, up to the 80s, don't know if they still do. The old landlord, the late Fred England, who kept the Crown and Tuns at Deddington until it was given the Hook Norton style of "refurbishment" (i.e. blasted beyond recognition) had a pianola in his bar - he had to sell it when he retired and I would have bought it if I'd had room, he played it for me once, it was fascinating. Oh Sinsull is that "Bell Bottom Trousers" the naughty version: Bell bottom trousers, coats of navy blue Let him climb the rigging like his Daddy used to do..... ;) |
