"Join" is indeed more or less the way "joindre" is pronounced when squeezed on one note.

Yeh, spot on, Greg.

The version I sing is based on Steve Riley's version, which, unless my ears are mistaken, include "parce que" squeezed in just before the last line, which makes sense! I also wonder if "join" could also come from the French "joindre".

Right, I'm off to find the Cormier version now, I've never heard it!

Can't do French accents, so I've written (ay) after accented e's to indicate pronunciation.
Hope this makes sense. Fitting all these words to the tune is a bit of a tongue twister occasionally. The tune is St James Infirmary, give or take a note.
   I've put the "borrowed" English words in the lyrics in quotes.
   This is basically Louis Cormier's version.

Looking for words to a Cajun Song entitled Blues de Saoulard. Odd spelling but that's cajun for you. Anyone got 'em?
