Subject: Chord Req: All Of the day I go dreaming From: GUEST Date: 23 Apr 04 - 12:44 PM Have you ever recollection of hearing the following lyrics at anytime, my father use to sing them and he has now passed away and we would love a copy of a recording of them but we are drawing blanks eveywhere we go, he would have been 85 years old this year. Many thanks Sharon All of the day I go dreaming And in the night time too I'm seeking a face that I dream of It seems no one else will do Off on cloud I going sailing I'm searching the whole world through But still there's no end to my rainbow Why don't my dreams come true All of the day I go dreaming and in the night time too I'm seeking a face that I dream of It seems no one else will do Off on cloud I going sailing I'm searching the whole world through But still there's no end to my rainbow Why don't my dreams come true |

Subject: RE: Help- Song Origin & tune: All day I go dreaming? From: George Seto - af221@chebucto.ns.ca Date: 28 Apr 04 - 02:20 PM Any idea, Sharon, of who might have sung it? Can't find anything quickly, so might need a clue to start it off? Thanks |

Subject: RE: Help- Song Origin & tune: All day I go dreami From: Helen Date: 01 May 04 - 08:34 AM Scroll to the bottom of this page for a sound sample of this song. Some of the other search results I got from Google.com included references to barber shop quartet music, so it seems to be used for that a lot. Coon Sanders Nighthawks Orchestra: Why Don't My Dreams Come True About halfway through the song is when the singing starts. Slight differences to the lyrics given in this thread. The names credited for this song are John Flood / George E. Patton. And before anyone goes off on a detour in this thread about the name of the above Orchestra - one of the founders of the Orchestra was called Carelton Coon. Helen |

Subject: RE: Help- Song Origin & tune: All day I go dreami From: Helen Date: 01 May 04 - 09:09 AM By the way, in doing a Google search for this song I stumbled on a site which has mp3 files of Wurlitzer organs. Unfortunately there wasn't a file of this song, but it was mentioned as being included on one of the rolls. So, Libby, thanks for asking this question because I have just listened to some of those sound files and they are fun. To hear other 165 band organ tunes, played on real Wurlitzer Style 165 band organ Helen |

Subject: RE: Help- Song Origin & tune: All day I go dreami From: Helen Date: 07 May 04 - 07:51 PM Hi Sharon, I had trouble playing the file by clicking the link, too, but I opened the RealAudio program, which you can download for free from the Internet. If you don't already have it you can go to www.realaudio.com and get a copy. I had to open up RealAudio myself and then copy the music link for the song (by right-mouse-clicking the link and choosing "copy") and then go to the File menu on RealAudio and choose Open Location, paste the copied link in and click OK. Then, you cross your fingers - an essential part of computer technology - and hope it works. Also, there is a CD available at Amazon.com with sound sample You can hear it either with RealAudio or Windows Media. (I prefer Winamp, it's a bit more reliable that RA. If you have a PC then it probably came with a version of Windows Media or Winamp. This sound sample doesn't get to the singing part, just the instrumental. There is also a copy of the 1923 Sheet music available Helen |
