Hi,

Was playing along with this last night at the folk club. Does anyone have the music. Very haunting tune.

apparently it's a tune from Chile.

apparently it translates as "callejón de las viudas"... but it takes me to lots of Spanish pages...... and I only ever learnt enough Spanish to chat up locals!!!*grin*..... if anyone can find a tune I'd be grateful

It's on Double-Headed Serpent by Inkuyo as "Callejon de Las Vinudas [Widow's Alley]" (with sound clip). "viudas" might be correct. I looked through Music of Bolivia - Llajta Musica!! and MUSIC from the ANDES...and nearby regions, but didn't find the music with that title (both are sites with a good number of recordings, though).

Here's as much of the tune as I can find from available clips. (The pickup D is a bit uncertain, and so are the last 3 bars; they weren't on the clips and could just as easily be: F E D|E3-|E2||).

Found another recording with the title of "Widow's Alley". It's on Mystic Warriors: Beyond Reality (HR8502). Audio clip for this sounds modern to me.

Had a listen to that one too - I think it's something different (or could be an introduction. Either way no melody like to Inkuyo one).
