Subject: Lyr Req: Fleetwood Mac From: Gypsy Date: 04 May 04 - 10:48 PM So, the handsome mando player and i were listening to a cd sans cover, that a friend gave us. Tune (on irish cd) sounded very bloody familiar, and thought, and thought and thought............it is an older Fleetwood Mac tune, and i can remember ONE freakin line! Melody line is strong on guitar, pretty simple, lots of sliding on the wound strings. Lyric fragment...."I've been there one time, I've been there two times" Found tons of sites, but can't remember the title. Anyone out there with a better memory than i? Thanks, all |
Subject: Lyr Add: NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN (Fleetwood Mac) From: Gypsy Date: 04 May 04 - 11:00 PM Fleetwood Mac - Never Going Back Again Lyrics Answered my own question! "Never going back again" is the title, and here is the lyrics: NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN She broke down and let me in Made me see where I've been Been down one time Been down two times I'm never going back again You don't know what it means to win Come down and see me again Been down one time Been down two times I'm never going back again |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Fleetwood Mac From: Grab Date: 05 May 04 - 12:58 PM Apparently Lindsay Buckingham played it in drop-D tuning. It's infinitely easier though played with A dropped to G and bottom E dropped to C - I got this from a guitar mag about 3 years back, although the name of the mag escapes me. Anyway, play it in C - you just need first two fingers of C chord (hammering on) for the main riff, and for the high bit (second half of verse) bar the D to E strings at fret 5. Mess around with that, listen to the CD and it'll all come together. Be warned that it's surprisingly difficult to sing. Not only is the guitar part tricky (so it's hard to sing and play at the same time), but the vocal covers a fair range, and it jumps up there instead of moving up there in stages. Oh, and it sounds much better on the CD bcos Lindsay Buckingham has double-tracked it and harmonises with himself occasionally. Short of playing it on a 12-string, that's not going to happen for us, unless you've got a friend who can play it with you. ;-) Graham. PS. Yes, it's a cracking song. |
