Subject: UK: Sam Pirt & Silver Spear 22/5 in Hull From: Skipjack K8 Date: 12 May 04 - 04:03 AM I am just a tad delighted that Sam will be joining us for our first Durty Nellie's gig in Hull9, on Saturday 22nd May. Despite as yet undiscovered tribes in Borneo knowing this, Durty Nellie's is on the High Street in the old town bit of Hull, better known as the Punch the Horse Quarter, which leads nicely into thanking Mick and Peter for their help in the protracted contractual negotiations. Perspiration should start streaming soon after 9pm. |

Subject: RE: UK: Sam Pirt & Silver Spear 22/5 in Hull From: Skipjack K8 Date: 12 May 04 - 06:04 AM Sadly for both her and us, the stupendous lady violinist will be running Brigg Fiddle Festival that night, but fear not, she will be restored to her rightful place in Silver Spear on Friday 10th September, when we start her comeback tour at Durty Nellie's. |

Subject: RE: UK: Sam Pirt & Silver Spear 22/5 in Hull From: Strollin' Johnny Date: 12 May 04 - 08:26 AM Would that be Carol Massen then? |
|
Subject: RE: UK: Sam Pirt & Silver Spear 22/5 in Hull From: Skipjack K8 Date: 12 May 04 - 08:39 AM No, Johners, it wouldn't, although the Massai did grace our Six Bells Tuesday session last week, to considerable applause. It would be Carol Dawson, ex of Prism, fearless leader of Wootton Fiddle Club, and co-organiser of Brigg Fiddle Festival, good woman herself. |

Subject: RE: UK: Sam Pirt & Silver Spear 22/5 in Hull From: Skipjack K8 Date: 17 May 04 - 06:47 PM feresh. Bloke is trying to take his mind off starring with Silver Spear, entertaining delusions of fetching Cunningham & Bain down to play for him. They'll be opening the show for him in a year or so, you'll see. |

Subject: RE: UK: Sam Pirt & Silver Spear 22/5 in Hull From: The DeanMeister Date: 21 May 04 - 10:42 AM Have a good night, Skip. You got the best night. Saturdays tend to have a better music crowd than Fridays. It's usually a hoot. You'll go down a bomb. Hoping to do a few myself after summer with my auld mucker Sean Brady on the fiddle and Dickie Deegan on the pipes. Would like to get down on Saturday, but it depends how much beer I consume in the afternoon and how obliging Mrs. DeanMeister is in the evening! Regards to the fine Mr Pirt, if I don't pitch up. Not seen him in a good while. Break a leg, fellas. |
