John met an melodeon player from Ireland down at Mullion harbour the other day, and he said he'd been unable to find any traditional music sessions in or near Plymouth (he's working there for a couple of years).
Can anyone help?

Regards
Marion

Its a bit of a way but not far by Devon standards but there are I couple I know of in the South Hams. Malborough near Salcombe on a Wed night and Kingsbridge on aThurs (1st of the month I think). There's a trad session in Totnes - Sun night ?

There is Folk On The Moor club at Wotter near Shaugh Prior on Sunday evenings and The Hyde Park Folk Club, at The Hyde Park pub in Plymouth? both have websites I believe. There are sessions elsewhere too both these clubs will be able to help out with info on those

i hardly see any plymouths anymore...
a few dodge darts and sometimes a
colt vista, but plymouth valiant
are rare, indeed, and so it would
be very hard to have a session near
one..those push button transmissions
were great, though! and slant 6 are
hard to beat!!

Ah the pub at Shaugh Prior

That brings back a VERY old memory of being on a biology fieldtrip at Cadworthy Farm and sneaking out across the fields to Shaugh prior for an illegeal drink!!!

Happy days!..... well we got very happy from what I remember until the following morning!
