Subject: King Wilkie From: GUEST,howard_bonner@yahoo.ca Date: 17 May 04 - 09:55 AM I am currently putting together a small project. Somewhere in my NET wanderings in the past, I was almost certain that I had encountered a Black Band by name 'King Wilkie' who recorded in the late teens through the 1920's. I can find no reference to same today except for a BLUEGRASS band using the name. Am I delusional? Did this group exist or was this one musician's handle! HB |

Subject: RE: King Wilkie From: open mike Date: 17 May 04 - 06:16 PM the current bluegrass band says they got their name from Bill Monroe's horse (or mule) as I recall. They record on Rebel Records. http://www.kingwilkie.com/ |
