I stayed up to watch Wim Wenders contribution to Martin Scorsese's BLues series. Easily the best so far (IN MY OPINION) The archive film of J.B. Lenoir was outstanding and the Skip James and Blind Willie Johnson segments fascinating.

Wonderful and very bizarre and rivetting. the other films in this series i've found pretty crappy, so this was very very welcome. The fake and fanciful archive stuff was haunting and odd.

Great stuff! The music (even the new stuff) was super. The old stuff, Skip James and J.B. Lenoir especially, was magical.

Good to see Skip James on the television, but a little superficial.Still the music stands by itself

I agree, Charlie, the best of the bunch, with the piano one a close second, clever reconstructions and longer soundclips.

PS my favourite image of the series so far was the Chess records archive photos of Muddy Waters getting his hair ready: rollers, hairnet and all!

Saw the last episode last night:Warming by the devil's fire (repeated on BBC4 tonight at 11pm BST). I thought it was the best in terms of the clips and soundtrack and the narrative was quite well done too. Nice to see Jesse Fuller in full fotdella mode as well as Son House etc. Pity "Buddy" turned off Ms Bogan tho' !!
