One half of Australia's Walters & Warner - surely you all have 'Pithead in the Fern'?
- or have someone at your club that sings 'Anderson's Coast' (O Annie dear, don't wait for me.....)

She's coming to Britain and singing her way round a good few clubs and the odd festival through June.
Just ask if you want more detail.

More on this later..... HFA

Do make her welcome. She is a fine traditional style singer from Australia with impeccable taste and a wry sense of humor.

Cheerily,
Charley Noble

Margaret has a powerful, melodic voice, and has a vast knowledge of Australian folk musical tradition. She also sings with the Roaring Forties, Sydney's finest shanty group. Margaret has been one of the big figures in the Sydney folk scene over the last couple of decades.

& she was singing shanties tonight at the shanty session on the 'James Craig' at the Maritime Museum.

She is a bit of an occasional lurker on Mudcat.

Looking forward to hearing Margaret again. I see she's booked at Maidenhead 10th June. Equally at home with rousing chorus songs or quieter, beautiful numbers like "dear diary", Margaret has a voice that makes you want to hear more.

Margaret, if you're reading this and you fancy popping into Herga one Monday we would all love to see you again. There's a bed at my place for you any time. PM me for phone number etc.

Moses

I can send you Margaret's e-mail address - yes it would it be great to see her at Herga. I told Bob last year she was coming, but it was while he and his computer were both in poor health, so we didn't manage to book her!

Kitty

Bribe, beat or threaten her to sing "Shallow Brown" and "The trees they do grow high." those two songs still raise goose bumps after ten years of my hearing them. If you can induce Nancy Kerr to accompany the second, that's the icing on a profoundly beautiful cake. Oh, and all please buy copies of "Power In The Song" it's her finest work- and that from a biassed subject who wrote about a third of the songs in her repertoire. If that good lady's reading this, Knock 'em flat, mate. Jack Halyard. aka John W.
