Subject: Margaret Walters is a-comin' to UK From: HipflaskAndy Date: 25 May 04 - 05:40 PM One half of Australia's Walters & Warner - surely you all have 'Pithead in the Fern'? - or have someone at your club that sings 'Anderson's Coast' (O Annie dear, don't wait for me.....) She's coming to Britain and singing her way round a good few clubs and the odd festival through June. Just ask if you want more detail. More on this later..... HFA |

Equally at home with rousing chorus songs or quieter, beautiful numbers like "dear diary", Margaret has a voice that makes you want to hear more. Margaret, if you're reading this and you fancy popping into Herga one Monday we would all love to see you again. There's a bed at my place for you any time. PM me for phone number etc. |

Subject: RE: Margaret Walters is a-comin' to UK From: jack halyard Date: 10 Jun 04 - 05:04 PM Bribe, beat or threaten her to sing "Shallow Brown" and "The trees they do grow high." those two songs still raise goose bumps after ten years of my hearing them. If you can induce Nancy Kerr to accompany the second, that's the icing on a profoundly beautiful cake. Oh, and all please buy copies of "Power In The Song" it's her finest work- and that from a biassed subject who wrote about a third of the songs in her repertoire. If that good lady's reading this, Knock 'em flat, mate. Jack Halyard. aka John W. |
