On checking I find that Compton AND Foolestroupe asked for these in the past. THIS isn what I can remember.

When I was a wee wee tot
They took me from my nice warm cot
And sat me on a cold cold pot
To see if I would pee or not
And when they saw that I would not
They took me from that cold cold pot
And put me in my nice warm cot
And there I peed a lot.

Replace 'Pee' in line 4 with 'Wee' and change last line to:-
And then I wee-weed quite a lot!
Thats how I recall it.

In fact now I look at that it was stolen directly from digitrad, so there's a wasted trip to Russia :-)

Just goes to show does'nt it ? I posted what I could remember and Lo and Behold - Up comes the Jean Redpath version , which I now remember . All it needs is some pillock like me to stick his neck out and someone will blow my head off . Thanks Jim .

Roger Whittakers version goes:-
When I was a wee wee tot,
My mama took me from my wee wee cot,
She put me on my wee wee pot,
To see if I would wee or not.
But when she found that I would not,
She took me from my wee wee pot,
She put me back in my wee wee cot,
And I gave her all I'd got.

It's funny that the Digital Tradition version doesn't show up in search. I think that all the short, repeated words confuse the search index. I crosslinked the DT version. Interesting that Jim had to find it in Russia for us.

I thought this had been long forgotten and then it comes up again, thanks, leadfingers. Is it just me that that remembers the Rum and Co-cocola chorus with this??

A Plaque on our doctors office in the early thirties, it was written like this.

Remember when you were a wee, wee tot ...
And your mother took you out of your warm, warm cot ...
And put you on a cold, cold pot ...
And made you wee, wee whether you could or not?

Alex Campbell used to sing this, way back in the 50's and 60's

Last verse:

When I was young and in my prime,
I can wee wee anytime.
But now I'm old and going grey
I can only wee wee twice a day.

It's a song we used to sing in the 1st Aldershot Venture Scouts in the 1970s which I 'collected' from leader Bob Norris from Ash, Surrey.

The tune and chorus was a version of 'rum and cocoa cola' which I think was Harry Belafonte or some other calypso singer.
