Subject: Tech: Windows XP Media Centre From: John MacKenzie Date: 31 May 04 - 08:47 AM I've just installed a new base unit using this software, but I have a display problem. It seems to have shrunk everything to the extent that even with solitaire games I can hardly see the cards. The Outlook Express blue envelope is miniscule when I start up my mail program too. I have increased the DPI setting, and this at least makes printed matter like this forum easier to work with. I also noticed that the web cam picture from my son's college is off centre. Can any of you puterwhizz Muddies out there help me please? JGM |

Subject: RE: Tech: Windows XP Media Centre From: Snuffy Date: 31 May 04 - 04:19 PM Sounds like your screen resolution is set very high. In control panel (or similar) go to Display, then Settings and change your resolution to a more suitable level 1024x1260 or 800x600 or whatever |

Left-click on "Properties." A screen entitled "Display properties" pops up. Left-click on the "Settings" tab and another screen appears. Go down to "Screen resolution" and adjust with the slide bar. Subject: RE: Tech: Windows XP Media Centre From: Stilly River Sage Date: 31 May 04 - 11:09 PM Yup, that's my guess also. Usually Windows goes the other way, has stuff way too big and I have to torque the resolution so I can fit more objects on my desktop. SRS |
