I am looking for the words and possibly music to a song from around the 1960's. I am not even sure it was a folk song but it told the story of an ordinary working bloke who never had very much in life but was well thought of by all.
Some of the lines refer to "he was neveer mentioned in the news papres" "his silverware was not the real thing" "in te eyes of his family he was looked upon as though he was a king"
This was played on the juke box when I were a lad and I have forgotten the details and artist can anybody help.
