According to bobdylan.com, JOHN BROWN was first released on MTV UNPLUGGED (1995). The song was copyrighted in 1963. Don't rush into anything, Bob.

There's an earlier version of the song on the "Live at the Gaslight 1962" album that Starbucks put out.
