Subject: Artists that have appeared at MRFC From: Rasener Date: 08 Jun 04 - 05:04 PM Market Rasen Folk Club has now seen 4 very good evenings since it opened with an average of 50 people each evening. I am just reflecting on how many artists have given their all on those 4 evenings. May I say not a bad one amongst them. Its just amazing. Many thanks to all of you for what you have done and you have all helped to put MRFC firmly on the map. With trepidation, I took the bold gamble of only allowing pre booked floor spots and obviously had the doubters who told me in no uncertain terms that artists woudn't bother to come along. Well if you look at the list of artists who have already played and the new artists who will be playing in the future, then I wonder what went wrong. Artists that have played on those 4 nights (not in any specific order, just what comes out of my garbled brain at the time). CARA Stitherum John Blanks Lucy Wright and Paul Young Mike and Jackie Gwenda and Terry Cater Colin and Karen Thompson Neil and julie Smith Jane Kitchen DACAPO Liam Robinson Dave Evardson Jean Cowman Kate Witney Yellow Belly Acapelly Mick Pearce Bloke in the Corner and Diathi (hope I got that right M8) Bill Whaley and Dave Fletcher 12 hours of first class and solid live entertainment. All I can say is Awesome. If I have missed anybody, then my sincere apologies. I am looking at the rest of the nights until December and the new artists playing at the club over that time (as well as a lot of the artists mentioned above) Steve Newton David Gray Thomas fairburn and Nick Tamblin Julie Evardson (with hubby in tow :-)) Travelling Yellow Bellies Parcel of Rogues Roger Beard Hissyfit (still need to confirm) Harpmaker and Christine (still need to confirm) Anny Berryman (still need to confirm) Bob Fox Duncan McFarlane Rhiannon George Papavgeris John Conolly So a lot of excellent nights coming up till Christmas. Thank you all so much. Somebody was telling me folk was on the wain. Can't understand what they mean. |
