Subject: New Folk Club in Barking, London From: Liz the Squeak Date: 18 Jun 04 - 04:02 PM A new folk club has opened up in Barking, East London/Essex on Monday nights. Held at the St Mary & Ethelburga Irish Social Club, William Street, Barking, Essex (or East London, depending on which side you live) It's near the mainline Barking station and can easily be reached by bus and train. For more details, contact Chris Bennett on 020 8554 7720. We're hoping to go along next Monday, so I'll report back then. LTS |

Subject: RE: New Folk Club in Barking, London From: Raedwulf Date: 18 Jun 04 - 04:50 PM There are a lot of William Streets! For those of you that use Multimap, etc, it's IG11. I might also be there next week, Liz. |

Subject: RE: New Folk Club in Barking, London From: The Borchester Echo Date: 19 Jun 04 - 03:46 AM Only one. It's the 13th one down, clearly marked "Barking, IG11". Although it's the wrong end of the Hammersmith & City line, I can't imagine having any difficulty in finding it myself. |

Subject: RE: New Folk Club in Barking, London From: Liz the Squeak Date: 20 Jun 04 - 04:15 PM Refresh - hoping to make it there but may find it difficult - Manitas is dancing out with the East Saxon Swords tomorrow in Waltham Abbey - folk club members beware and don't buy them any beer. LTS |

Subject: RE: New Folk Club in Barking, London From: Chris Amos Date: 22 Jun 04 - 01:33 AM I went to the club last night, a good evening. We got a friendly welcome from the locals, one of who contributed an excellent version of the Lakes of Colflynn. Room has good acoustics – only complaint, no good bitter. Chris |
