Subject: Caversham FF skiffle sesh? From: Roger the Skiffler Date: 21 Jun 04 - 03:38 AM Did this happen this year? I know Leadfingers has complained in the past of the poor publicity for Caversham ,their website is "under repair" and the note King Street Smith usually posts here has escaped my notice, if there was one. I had a date (yesterday) in one of the fliers from Dave Illingworth of DPN+1. Herself and I were on our way to Basildon Park for a jazz picnic (Tina May with Alan Barnes, Bruce Boardman and the Pasadena Roof Orchestra, all excellent)and thought we'd catch the end of the Clifton Arms gig on the way. At just after five the car park was pretty deserted and the only thing going on in the pub was large screen sport. RtS |

Subject: RE: Caversham FF skiffle sesh? From: fiddler Date: 21 Jun 04 - 04:07 AM Caversham happened, combined with Reading Waterfest (Council festival) for one day only! It was busy for Caversham and quiet for Waterfest! Next year they are back to normal. I must admit my allegience will be to Waterfest not Caversham - I have worked for them before and whilst there aims are laudable their treatment of their 'guests & performers' is abysmal (huh spelling there). As to specific programmed items don't know as there did not appear to be a displayed or sold programme! A |
