From: Sir Roger de Beverley
Date: 21 Jun 04 - 10:36 AM

I met a man (Bob Hartley) at Beverley festival who told me that he was organising an inaugural folk festival in Filey. As he is not on Mudcat I offered to publicise it here. (Filey is on the East coast of Yorkshire, UK)

Friday 30th July - Sunday 1st August

more details can be found at this web address:

http://www.filey-therapist.co.uk/Filey%20pages/Filey%20folk%20festival.htm

Bob can be emailed at roberthartley5@aol.com

Roger

I know that Lucy Wright and Paul Young will be performing there.
Should be a nice event.

Oh how I would have loved to go to this. Sadly (for me) Mick is at a guitar summer school that week so - boo hoo - we can't attend. Maybe next year ...

Beardy's going to Sidmouth so I'll be at a loose end... I might go... I'd need to find a campsite... is anyone else from Hull going... a lift would be really handy.

Hi, I'm Robert / Bob (confused already?) who was mad enough to try this. For the boozers, we shall have a guest beer on all three pubs - Woldtop, a local one and not at all bad. The three pubs are all in the Old Town where the tourist punters hardly ever go. I look forward to meeting old and new friends. My email address is roberthartley5@aol.com.

Hi Robert
have Lucy Wright and Paul Young been in touch with you, to firm up their   floorspots yet?

Yes, Les, Lucy & Paul have confirmed everything. Just had a grand weekend at the Scarborough Sea Fest, but I think that I am now "shantied out".

John - it's classical guitar chamber music. It stops me playing folk music and getting too good. ;-)

Well what did people think? Full marks to Robert & the team for their first festival. There were teething problems but that is to be expected & I rather think that there will be a 2005 festival.
