Subject: RE: Chord Req: Looking for Burning Of Auchindoun c From: Uncle_DaveO Date: 22 Jun 04 - 02:33 PM At the risk of being thought a smart-ass, I say you have all the chords you need: Sing it unaccompanied, as it was intended. It is so powerful in itself, and free in form, I can't see tying it down to an instrumental accompaniment. Dave Oesterreich |
Subject: RE: Chord Req: Looking for Burning Of Auchindoun chord From: GUEST,john c Date: 22 Jun 04 - 04:26 PM I only know this unaccompanied, but I just tried these chords played as apperegios (is that how its spelt?) and not at all rythmnically binding - and it doesnt sound bad at all..... (Am)As I gaed in by (G)Fiddich (Am)Side On a (G)May mor(Em)ning I (Am)met wi´ Willie (G)MacIn(Am)tosh An (C)hour be(G)fore the (Am) dawning Turn a(G)gain, (D)turn a(Am)gain, Oh,(Am) turn again I (G) beg ye, (Am) Gin ye burn (G) Auchin(Am)doon, (C)Huntly, (G)he maun (Am)heed ye. The D is a bit daring but I think it makes it sound more dramatic..... Hope this helps, John |
Subject: RE: Chord Req: Looking for Burning Of Auchindoun c From: Uncle_DaveO Date: 22 Jun 04 - 05:36 PM GUEST, john c: I tried your chords just now. It appears that you and I know slightly different versions of the tune, in that for my tune the Am in the first line just won't work. An Em does, though. Or perhaps just removing the Am and letting the G ring. But I like the Em better. I rather like your D. Dave Oesterreich |
