Subject: Lyr Req: Song about a veteran From: GUEST,Mark Date: 27 Jun 04 - 03:28 PM I can't remember the name of the song or who it was originally recorded by (maybe Fred Neal in the late 60's) but the song begins something like this: She was a young girl, He wasn't much older. She (da da da ) He was a soldier. Then the song goes on to talk about the relationship and desires after WW2. "A home in the suburbs, if they could learn to do without" A great song but I just can't remember much about it. Would like to be able to sing and play the whole thing. Does this ring a bell with anyone? Thanks! |
