I've never heard anyone say they like it, yet it figures pretty high in the ratings. Either the people who compile the ratings figures are liars, or a significant percentage of those who watch it are.

I've only watched this latest series, and I enjoyed it as much as I enjoy any other light entertainment programmes. Brain-food it ain't, but sometimes the froth is as enjoyable as the coffee (albeit for completely different reasons).

Don't go in the BB house jOhn. I would miss your threads. although I would vote for you if you do go in.

theres not much doubt - it is rubbish. but its more unpredictabale than orchestrated chat shows like Springer. and to be honest - it plays fairer than Springer, because we get a chance to make a star out of some people who are not particularly talented. It doesn't just hold people up to ridicule for half an hour and then chuck them back onto the streets. the personalities do get a chance and time to strut their stuff.

Judging from the American programmes we see over here, i don't think you would like it. Its a bit like you don't get cricket cos it lasts four days and sometimes its a draw. the winner of this show is not necessarily the one with the most votes. the prize is that they get a shot at being a media celebrity with a licence to print their own money - and that emerges in the months after the show.

the game plans of the various contestants are discussed widely and deliberated over by experts and supporters. some try to maximise their impact by being feisty and occasionally downright unpleasant, some preen themselves and try to be Mr Nice guy who looks nice. they've all got strategies.

Anyway at least people don't fight over it like they do football.

This series was billed as BB 'gets evil' (or something similar), withthe management playing 'tricks' on the inmayes (or so I gather).
As the average volunteer for this show is a narccissist(sp?), just trying to get some minor fame, might I suggest a series where BB gets 'Really Evil':
Put the housemates in the building, run them through the hoops, BUT DON'T BROADCAST LIVE (just a single one or two hour show of the hogh/low lights shown at some ungodly hour of the morning at the end of the run) - evictiond by random selection from the nominees.
