This is definitely cancelled in what would have been its 10th year - grumpy old git living near pub objected to people enjoying its garden and the new owners of the pub are not robust enough to ignore him in the way the departing owners did. I was NOT told this by Mark Lawson (the organiser), it came from another source.

I have today spoken to Mark Lawson and he is still looking for an alternative venue but unless it comes up literally this week it will be too late.

It needs to have enough space for camping, no or deaf neighbours, and be a free house or if tied able to have about 20 guest beers in for the festival. It also needs a PEL or a very bullish landlord!

I have suggested the Fenn Bell (St Mary Hoo, do a forum search to check out previous events) but Mark may not be able to check it in time, and the location is not ideal.

Has any other 'catter any ideas for a suitable venue preferably somewhere near Canterbury, Ashford or Faversham? Post here and I'll call Mark.

Does anyone know if the Golding Hop at Plaxtol still brews cider, has an orchard attached to the carpark, and is still about a mile from the nearest house?
