Subject: Lyr Req: Truck Stop Grill From: GUEST,Stew Date: 06 Jul 04 - 04:55 PM I am looking for the words to this old tune by Arthur "Guitar Boogie" Smith. It was on an old LP from the late 50's along with a lot of great music by this artist. Thanks in advance for any help you may have. Stew |

Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Truck Stop Grill From: Jim Dixon Date: 09 Jul 04 - 09:33 AM I found TRUCK STOP GIRL by Bill Payne and Lowell George of Little Feat. Is that close enough? ;-) TRUCK STOP GRILL, by Arthur "Guitar Boogie" Smith & His Crackerjacks, is on "Fingers On Fire," MGM LP 3525, 1957. I can't find any evidence that it has ever been reissued. Obscure old country music is the kind of thing The Record Lady specializes in. She doesn't have this song posted, but she does take requests. It might be worth a try. I see she does have several other songs or tunes by "Arthur Smith," but this might be a different guy known as Fiddlin' Arthur Smith. |
