Thanks for that, Jim, I had given up on getting those names. At the time I first posted I had looked up Google Maps but couldn't find much at all. I have to accept that you are correct with the placenames, perhaps it's Richie O'Shea's pronounciation, but I still think he sings Kilcoggy rather than Kiltullagh.

Once a month, from September to March, I visit "Kiltullagh's waters" i.e. a small lake just south of Glenamaddy, to count wintering birds. I then check out "Glenamaddy Turlough" - another small winter lake just North of the village. In between the two, in the village itself, there's a pub.... but that's another story!

Here's what I think I hear. I have spent some time looking up place names, and I can at least testify that all the following (except London) are real places near Glenamaddy, even if they don't quite match the singer's pronunciation! Most of them are too small even to have a Wikipedia article about them, but I have linked the ones that do.

Thanks Joe, I trawled the net pretty thoroughly before making the request, I know it's a fairly modern song but I'm
    hoping that someone either has the CD with liner notes or has a better ear than me for the placenames.

Can anyone please supply the rest of the lyrics of this song. I got the MP3 from the radio but unfortunately my hearing is not too good and even with a fairly good map I can't fill in the rest of the names or even be sure of those that I have.
