From: Dahl

Howdy folks in the Mudcat cyber world. I am a graduate student at the University of Sherbrooke in Quebec, Canada who is presently conducting research on murder in traditional folk music. If you have any good suggestions please let me know. I am trying to enlarge the theme of "The murder-girl ballad", songs like : banks of the Ohio, Tom Dooley, etc. If you have any suggesions, please enclude the year and the geographical origin - If possible I would like to focus on songs from New England, if I can find enough ...
Thanks,
ERic

Have you tried the Lyric & Knowledge Search? Try putting girl and murder into the box there, and see what comes up.

I'm betting plenty to keep you busy.

Have a look at them, and try asking specific questions in any threads about a particular song.

Your question so far has been extremely general.
