After Saltburn FF, ie between Monday 16 and Thursday 19 August, Sandy and I will be staying around the North Yorkshire / Pennines area in our campervan, ready for the start of Whitby FF, on Friday 20 August.
Does anyone know of any good folk clubs / English music sessions / singarounds / morris events we should not miss during that interegnum?
[We are more doers than listeners - I sing and play the concertina, including for morris, and Sandy plays a lovely mandolin]

The Blacksmith's Arms, Farlington, North Yorkshire - Wednesday 18 August, start 2030/2100 til whenever we finish - singers and players all welcome.

Farlington is 11 miles north of York, between Stillington and Sheriff Hutton. Beer is £1.22 a pint for Sam Smith's bitter. See the 'Blacksmith's Arms 16 July' music thread for further details and links to photos.

have a word with Jim and Mu Wilkinson who will be running a singaround at Saltburn and have their own club up there

I think there are also local clubs like Marske which I think runs on Thursdays and some go there pre festival
probably clubs at Guisbro' etc if not closed down for summer and festivals

Can I second The Blacksmiths Arms at Farlington near York. If you ever get close to Glaisdale near Whitby you are welcome to stay with us, i wiLL PM address.

You can try the "First In, Last Out" in Fishburn Park, Whitby, on Tuesdays, and Whitby Folk Club on Wednesdays at the Plough in Baxtergate.
