Subject: RE: Folklore: Sea Shanty Singer/Historian in Suffolk? From: GUEST,Chanteyranger Date: 14 Jul 04 - 01:23 PM I know Louis, and he would be outstanding. If he or Jim Mageean are not available, there's Bob Walser in the U.S. (if you can afford to import). He is one of the oustanding scholars of sea music, and a singer/performer of it. PM me if you'd like his email address. He lived in England for several years before returning to the U.S. Chanteyranger |

Both Johnny and Graeme can be found in a google search. |

Subject: RE: Folklore: Sea Shanty Singer/Historian in Suffolk? From: GUEST Date: 14 Jul 04 - 12:48 PM Or Jim Mageean. Who has given many workshops and is very informative as well as being able to put the information across. He's from the Newcastle upon Tyne area I'm sure some one here will know how to contact him. He is in my opinion the best you can get. |
