Hey dudes, how's it hanging man? Some of you may remember me as a square uncool flamenco player. Well now I am hip and swinging! How? My new Gibson 180 sonex custom electric AND the pentatonic scale. Man you can groove for hours just laying that scale on your axe, and if you play it really, really fast with a plectrum, people call you a "rock god"
Blues is the true path man, it's a piece of p##s, Music is for squares!!!! Must fly man, there's a happening in Pearson Park that I want to check out.
                   Blues, the true path.

blues is ace, but do not stray from the flamenco path!

i know the 5 shapes of the pentatonic scale (yes theres 5) so i can show you them if you like, and how to get a blues backing track going so you can play over it with the scale...

Actually, if you turn the tone pots off, I can get a nice semi- acoustic sound. Ideal for playing Joe Pass stuff.
hmmmmm jazz, nice, the true path

Best wishes for a great time for all of you.

What's the point of challenging a peak? It's not going to fight back is it? What do you do to challenge a peak, wave a stick at it or something?

Take one group of mixed age range men. Present them with the challenge of climbing the 5 highest peaks in the British isles in a limited time. Snowdon in Wales.....Carrantouhill near Killarney in S/Ireland....Sleive Donard near Belfast in N/Ireland...Ben Nevis in Scottyland...then Scafell Pike in Engyland...in 50 hours total including travelling time..little sleep..We did it in 48.5 hrs.
Next time we are going for 45 hours.
There you have it ted...the celebration unfortunately is on the 4th.
Hope your "do" goes well, which from reports of last year it should do.
Best wishes.

grateful ted, can't pm you. get a message saying your membership is inactive.
i will require 2 camping spaces,as mny friend and her daughter are coming. perhaps chris will allow daughter to share if they both want to. a 14yr old daughter may want to go to bed much earlier than christine. she knows chris as she has slept at her house before, but went to bed at around 11pm which is far too early for chris.

Sorry to be boring here and hugely looking forward to next weekend but could we touch base for a second?

How many tents?

Do people want to eat?

Who is actually coming? Just a rough idea on friday/saturday would help.

Just being fair to Ben; he deserves to know.

(BTW if anyone wants to discuss the semi colon let's start a new thread - what ARE semi colons about?)

wigan -

Everyone who wants to sing always has the chance to sing at Farlington - the only person who could prevent that is oneself. You may only get one turn per night if it is that busy but noone will ever stop you (but we'll encourage you next time around if you miss it first time...)

Heloo Nick=you up early then!
anyway=i'm going
note to Ted n Mick [real names =El Ted and Ossonflags]=
i don't knoew where it is, so can i follow 1 or both of you there?
Mick-waht time you setting off, and are you going straight there, and can i follow your van?
i know where mick house is, i been there a few times and drunk a few bottles of rum, 1 time i went there till about 5 in the morning, and drinked 2 bottles of mick rum, i was tired and nearly asleep, and run out of rum, but mick said "no problum, therre another botle in the cuboard"!,
but i said 2no thanks, i falling asleep alreadfy!
i think mick got loads of drinking experience and it takes loads of bears for him too get pissed, [he is old, thats why, and been drinking for years]

and we was listening to Christie Moor on micks stereo, and it was really nice.

Nick saying=do people likew to eat?
anser =Yes, I like to eat fried mushrooms, and strwaberrys, and fish fingers, and chocerlate cakes, and bacon sandwidges, and things like that.

but food should be cheap, not like whitby sandwidge bar [i went there, i got 2 tuna sandwidges and a bun, guess how much it was?
it was 5 quid!
i said to sandwidge woman="you bloddy joking arent ye?
she says 2No, that is our prices, blooddy fiddling basterds!

5 quid for 2 sandwidges and a bun!
waht a ficking rip off!

[it was really 4.80, but thats nearly 5 quid]
total bloody con, you can buy a house for that in hull !

and sweatrcorn in it, did i ask for sweat corn=no i dident!

anyeay=whitby sandwidge bar=big rip off, and big load of shit.

anyway=does any hull people wants a lift to far lington?
les, maggie eytc?

or guest richard?
ted and mick=if you van get to fill up=put them in my van if you like.

Mick seen my van, he says "is that your van, its shit, its too rusty, i'm not botherd, its good van, its bit rusty but ok, few local folkies been in my van, like lez and maggy, amd chris and genny, and people like that etc.

anyway=guees who i saw tonight?
it was grayum and Soo, i ask them if they goingf to farlington, they say dont know,. dont know nothing about it, [i went to there house, thewy live in park avenuew], he plays a banjo and guitar, and she plays a drum., and you can see them in tap amnd spile sometines, specially on a sunday.

she [Soo], does singing as well.

I dont sing, thats because my singing is shit, and there is already plemty of good singers in hull.

anyway=I sang ac song at hull folk club last month [it was a trade unuinon protreest type song],
and that manager bloke came in the singiing room and said to me "Youd better stop singing, because all the neeghbours have started complaining"
so i'm not singing no more, [my singing is a bit shit anyeway!

i looking forwards to farlinhton=my favourite bit is just lisening.
i think it will be really nice.

i made a folk club, but i don;t sing there, bexause my singing is carap, =plus also=
its better for me to give the good people a chance,
and i like to listen , not sing.

john

ps=if you want a lift=just let me knoew.
