Will Nick and The Beast be there? Will the rest of us have to be smeared in garlic as a defence?

Hopefully Lynne and I will be there. Whereabouts is it? We went to the Sun when we came to Beverley Folk - is it near there? Can you park

Nick, If you go past the "Sun" keeping the minster on your left hand side you will see an arch that has the "Monks Walk" sign above it.Go through the arch and there is plenty parking. It is about two minutes walk from the "Sun" Hope to see you then.
Two oclock start, you will get a decent seat.

I'll get my coat..... incidentally raggy, We saw off 700pints at farlington on friday 16th and NOBODY spilt a drop!! Except john the harp, but even then he managed to expertly tip it into the soundhole of my £1500 Manuel Lopez guitar, thus saving the carpet!

Well I (and Lynne) had a most enjoyable afternoon - thanks to Mick and all for making us welcome and entertaining us.

Hopefully we'll see some of you on the 3rd/4th September up at Farlington and we can return the hospitality.

Anyway it was an experience to go and attempt to sing somewhere new and different. As it was the first time that I have ever sung in front of others outside the confines of our local pub (apart from a total disaster where I dried totally in Mickleby) it was a particularly rewarding experience for me.

Thanks and see you soon.

Another wonderful session hosted by Mr Flags. It was great to get such a wide selection of singers and players. We staggered out of there sometime after 7pm.

Ted - I've sorted out my passport, and my shots are up to date, so I'll hopefully be joining the expedition to the South Bank.

I think that I left about 6pm - deceptively strong stuff that Woldsman Bitter. Anyway, it was all very enjoyable - even Les doing Canyons of Your mind.

Apologies for mixing up my anecdotes yesterday - of course it was not Richard Farina who wrote There But for Fortune, but it was the writer of TBFF (Phil Ochs)who was booed at Carnegie Hall for singing Buddy Holly songs.

The Sun is still open and we had our Tuesday session there as usual. However, the current licensees are supposed to be leaving at the weekend (not last Tuesday as reported earlier)with no word about any replacement.

I hope to be able to post something about our session here tomorrow - hold the front page.

re; MONKS WALK SUNDAY 5TH SEPT 2pm
My servants have informed me that Farlington has only the most basic sanitary facilities, akin indeed to Hull, so although we will be joining you for this fun packed session, do please stand away as we may be "heavy with the scents of earth and water"
                   Semi colons, the true path!
