Subject: Alcazar Music From: Rabbi-Sol Date: 04 Aug 04 - 12:07 AM Years ago I used to buy my folk music Casettes from Alcazar Music in Waterbury, Vermont. Besides a catalogue, they used to have a booth at all major festivals. What ever happened to them ? SOL ZELLER |

Subject: RE: Alcazar Music From: dick greenhaus Date: 04 Aug 04 - 12:01 PM As far as I know, Alcazar was a retail outlet (like CAMSCO), not a producer. Sandy Paton---HELP! |

Subject: RE: Alcazar Music From: Alonzo M. Zilch (inactive) Date: 05 Aug 04 - 04:11 PM Alcazar carried a lot of labels. They were also a label themselves and released albums by people like Dave Van Ronk, Priscilla Herdman, Rachel Bissex, Rory Block and others. Their albums for adults were on the Alcazar imprint, kids albums on Alacazam. |

Subject: RE: Alcazar Music From: karen k Date: 06 Aug 04 - 02:49 AM Dick, you are right on one hand and wrong on the other. Joan Pelton has not died but sadly enough she is in a convelescent home in VT. She suffers from alzheimers. You are correct that Alcazar was a retail outfit like Camsco. |
