George appeared, yet again, on Celtic Heartbeat on Radio Wales last Saturday. You can hear him again by listening online, courtesy of the BBC radio player. It's a programme well worth listening to anyway, but you can hear George at about 2 hr 10 mins.

Well done, George. Looking forward to seeing you and Titch at Market R and after.

By the way, the song that Frank played, "Busker", is one I wrote with our own "Breezy" in mind; so it's a kind of double for Mudcat...

Yes it is - a standard already in some places - judging from the number of folks who joined in right away when it was sung at the Saddleworth Festival survivors' session this year. It's one of El Greko's most immediate creations, but remember he's writ plenty more brilliant songs that are already becoming 'standards' too. All power to you El G !

El G plays 6 and 12 string guitar ,tending to use his nice new 12 rather than the 6 these days . And is one of the first people we invited to our latest Charity Stamp In (where ordinary mortals pay 50p a time to stamp on Good Musicians fingers)

There are cultural stereotypes to uphold, folks, don't blame me. However, I never smoke between verses, sips of beer or courses at a meal - music, drink and food being too important to interrupt. And I will be smoke-free by end November latest, in preparation for cuddling my grandson in Oz. That's if I can "hack" it.

I did and I used to smoke 50 a day - 28 years ago. Stopped overnight.

sorry Villan, can't make it to el greko on nov 19, but i'm likely to "say hello to him" well before then - red bull in september, banbury folk day and/or open door extravaganza in october.....

and d'you know, George's well on the way to kicking the evil tar habit, and good on 'im I sez!

and nobody can steal his show breezy, not even you! i'm sure market resin (august bank holiday) and gainsboro will both ring to el g's choruses long before 22nd october.
