Here is the correct chord progression I learned by ear and using some of the chords provided by the posts above. The song is divided into 3 different sections where the progs are different.

I don´t think E does the trick. Works for me with Emi, though. Like this:

It's mainly Bm, then F#MAJ, switches to a E at some point can't quite figure it out. But I am positive about the Bm and F# here is what I got with the lyrics

Yep those are the lyrics! I have been thinking about it some more and the chord changes sound rather straight forward, I just dont know what the chords are...

Is there anyone around who knows "standard" chord progressions for eastern european folk/tradional music which the count song is clearly based on? Kind of like the standard set of chords (G D C em)in folk/traditional western european/american music?

We were particularly fond of "Doing the Batty Bat." I found sites online that have the words to Sesame Street songs--but I don't recall if the chords were there also. You can do an advanced search in Google, but be patient. There are a lot of closed down sites and broken links in the area of children's song lyrics!

Do you have the full lyrics to the song? I'd love to see them. Sorry, can't help with chords, but maybe somebody else can.

We had a Sesame Street tape in the 1970's, and the kids and the ex and I played it over and over again and sang along with it. There was one Count song that we really liked, and it would be nice to see the lyrics. Here's what I recall:

Two bats flying in the belfry
da-da, da-da, da-da-daa (another bat comes in)
That makes three bats, WONDERFUL...

That's all my failing memory can recall. Can somebody set me straight, and help with the chords request for the first message?

The Count was my favorite Sesame Street character.

I found a recording of "The Song of the Count" and I think it is a really fun kinda song and want to play it, but I cannot find the chords anywhere and though I tried, I cant figure them out my self. Any one around here play it, or know the chords or know where I can find them?
