I am desperate to find the words of Alan Taylors "LET ME BE". it was recorded on "THE LADY" album in the 70s, if anyone can let me have the lyric I would be most grateful. I loaned my copy to someone who failed to return it, about par for the course isn't it.
Many Thanks Bazzy

Let me be your harbour in a raging storm
Let me be your mender, when your sails are torn
Let me be your anchor, less you sail away
Let me be your lover for another day

Let me be, let me be,
Let me be, let me be

Let me be your brother, let me be your friend
Let me be a willow, when you lean I'll bend
Let me be a young man, who is in his prime
And let me be your father, in another time

Let me be your counsel, when you're on your guard
Let me be your comfort, when the road is hard
Let me be your shelter, when you need to hide
Let me be the leader, let me be your guide

Let me be your music, let me be your joy
Let me be your sorrow when you walk away
Let me be your memory of a faded past
Let me be your future, let me be the last

Lovely song - I do like the words of this one. I also like his Simple Song. I think the guy isn't heard enough now.

But I don't want to be lyrics! I'd rather be melody!

er....the 3rd line is: "LEST you sail away. Doesn't otherwise make sense. And the artist's name is ALLAN Taylor.

CR - the sleeve notes for my copy actually say 'less' but you're right - it doesn't make sense.
