Just wondering who's going. It's one I won't miss, and I have to come all the way from Maidstone (Yes, I know I'm a soft southerner, but Fylde is brilliant). I'm going to wear my mudcat t-shirt for one day (only thank God!!). It'll be good to see Cloudstreet for one.
I moved this message here from another thread on the same topic.

Won't be there this year - I decided to give Wallingford Bunkfest a try, and it is a lot nearer. But I'm really going to miss Fylde, which is a brilliant festival.

Sadly Eric Roche won't be at Fylde this year. His cancer treatment has left him more debilitated than he expected (although the doctors believe it has been successful)

Ken Nicol, an old friend of the Festival will be replacing Eric, and will be running a Workshop at Milton St on Saturday.

Can't wait for tomorrow!

We're off to Fylde - 1st time for years! We usually have to go to Hull Maritime as Geoff's group performs there. But Fylde was always my favourite festival.

Just hope Alan doesn't make us work too hard for our stewards badges!!
I've already picked out the events I want - definitely Strawhead's 30th on the Friday, and the concert in the Bowling Green on the Saturday.

There'll be a large-ish contingent from Saddleworth there, so see you all in Fleetwood!

Thanks S&R - Kevin "The Bush" most likely won't be there either as his arm is still out of action!- the bowing arm not the drinking arm!

Confirm for changes for the Mount on Friday:-

Steamer Hotel (next to the market) - Sinlairs bar (next to the bar downstairs) - New location for the Singaround, If you want to have a sing and or play come along with your voice and instruments and sing us a song, play us a tune, join in the chorus or just listen - everyone welcome (12noon -3.00pm)

And don't forget to get you copies of The Penny Dreadful (and let them have some jokes, articles, well wishes etc. to publish)

PB - packing bags and changing strings!

We had a great weekend. Highlights were Kate Rusby and John McCusker who we thought had "come of age" very nicely after the cute nervous years, His Worship and the Pig who were hilarious and John Conolly who worked very hard indeed for his fee!

Packed out at the Marine Hallon Sunday night, even though I thought my weekend ticket would get me in, Went down to the North Euston and saw some real talented guys work an audience. The Ian Garside Band and their altered ego's The Elderly Brothers. Terry Colooney was such a great voice and the accompianist Peter Skinner needs much more exposure. The evening might have been audience centred bit why not!. Iy makes such a refreshing change to listen to an experienced bunch of guys with mothing to prove. I would certainly considrer thr Garside Band for any festival. They are proof that getting older means maturing and honing their craft.

Great weekend met lots of nice people and sang (a few!) songs..

Last night at the Steamer was The survivors session - not many left :-)

Then another Steamer session today, with one or two FFF ites coming along - only problem the Pub had no beer left till after lunch only lager - another "Sell-Out" in the Steamer.

C U all next year if not before

I am planning to go, but I'm struggling a little, I asked if they needed stewards but I've had no reply, the "boys" don't need me and mother is either doing Hull or the bender so transport is an issue too, I might have a lift but nothing is solid as yet!
It's looking a little bleak!
