Oaklet departed Ireland hotfoot with the wax cylinder of the new CD, came drekly round my gaff, and we put it on the gramophone and had a listen.

He omitted to tell me what it's called, or the names of the tracks, just claiming that it is one hour and six minutes of light entertainment, so we wound up the handle and let her go. One hour and six minutes later, Oak asked what I thought, and I, in all honesty, said 'IT IS REALLY NICE', and as literally tens of readers know, and know well, that is the highest accolade in the local reveiwing system.

I believe that it will be available in October, unless you are resident in the Western Isles, where you can get your ears round it on the wireless a fortnight earlier.

It is truly excellent, and some are saying the best yet. For my money, it is certainly as good as the previous three (yes, three! They don't talk about the Mason's Apron CD, but I like it, and treasure my copy) and they're all brill.

That's good news S K8.

I will wait patiently for November the 5th when CARA appear as Guests at Market Rasen Folk Club, and I am sure it will go with a great big bang.

There last 2 CD's are excellent and of course their tune Abbeyfeale will be appearing on the Charity Lincolnshire CD, coming out shortly.

They are also doing a flying visit floorspot on October the 8th at Market Rasen FC.

I do hope they realise that we have changed venues since they last appeared :-)

The pictures on there first CD was good [Asleep behind the chair]
there wasa picture of a Morris Travveler, but it was spolied by 3 old blokes standing in front of it, blocking the view!
[a morris traveller is a type of car, an old mini estate type car, made of wood.

Hello=PS, I reviewed there first CD here, but apparently I spelled one of the tracks wrong [spelling has never really been my forte!

Skipjack8 mentioned it on another folk website that we both use, he refered to me as "An illiterate well wisher"!

[i'm not bothered, this is musuc site, not spelinng site!

The Cara CD might have 4 songs on it - One More Day, traditional and taken from the repertoire of Colin and Karen Thompson, The North Wall, from the repertoire of Dave Evardson from Grimsby, Great Grandfather's Warning by Mike Ryan and the title track Long Forgotten by Oakley and Mike Ryan. Or so I've heard.

PS-i just eat some egg and chips, and to manny eggs, so made egg buttys, but left the pan on, so it went all smokey, smoky [how spell smoky then?
and set the alarms off, that will piss the neebours off!
i opened the door, to blow the smoke out, but it didnt go out, now my whole place stinks of egg smoke!
[and burnt fryingf pans!

fire alrarm took ages to stop, but it stopt now, it was going =beep beep beep beep, etc etc etv for ages, i was going to smash it, but its too high up, and i couldent reach it, [even standing on the chare!
i threw a tin of beans at it, but missed, i was lucky, if it broke, i would of hadf bean stains on the carpit, and a waste of good beans.

ps-i could of hit it with a brush, but i didbn't think of that idea at the time, [i meen a sweeping brush, not a little brush like a hare brush].

I'm litseningf to threir first cd now, its really nice.
anyway=people moan about smocky, smoky, smokey [on of them will be spelled right!
pubs, they should try bretjing in here then, that would teach them!
its full of smoke in here now!

anyway=i'm lucky, and i'm glad it dident set on fire, it could of ruined my pan, [i put it in the water, and it went sssssssssss!
and i could of got burnt to death,

this could of been a really dangerous thing, but i wasnt scared, just fed up off all the smoke and noise.
Maybe i will be a fireman, how much do they ern in a week?

I know a fireman, he's called paul, his arm got sqwashed wehn a big heavy thing fell on it, now his arm is ruined, i don;t think i'll be a fireman, its too dangerous.

The new CD will be available in about a month. All the recording end is completed, leaving Oakley to leaf through lovely photos of that Mike Ryan bloke for inclusion in the CD cover.

The website is to be updae to include the new material but this,like all things technological,will take some time.

I have it on good authority that the Cara CD, Long Forgotten, has arrived in its final (draft) form. The next step is the production of up to 11 copies to meet consumer demand. It could, therefore, be available in about 10 days.

Oakley has been driven mad by the process.

There is a wonderful photograph of that lovely Mike Ryan's face on the sleeve and drawings of other parts of his body as well.

Thanks, Art - were are on the case. As far as being driven mad (as my good friend MR wrote), I'd like to point out that I am just as sane as I was, before beginning the process of producing the CD "Long Forgotten". Mr Villan, it is my duodenum, MR's sternum and old whatsisface's splendidly florid spleen on the cover.

Can anyone smell onions?
