Since I am holding my birthday bash at the Globe, Guisborough, North Yorkshire on Friday October 15th with Leadfingers as the booked guest at the folk club there that night Magician and Gillie have decreed that the whole weekend should become a Mudcat Free For All (no, that DOESN'T mean the ale is free!) for anyone willing/able to spend all or part of the weekend there.

There is room in the yard for several camper vans - let us know in advance please if you want to bring one - and floor space in the Lounge for indoor camping. Last February we had a great time and the locals have been asking when we will be back.

Why not come and join us?

Feel a bit 'umble about having a club gig turned into a Mudcat weekend , And am not sure wether or not I can hang around much on Saturday , BUT I am definately looking forward to Friday evening . And Yes please - Somewhere to unroll a sleeping bag will be appreciated .

Last Feb. was brill!!!! Gather & Handfasting to boot. Having heard Leadfingers perform (voice like a corn crake, fingers definately not lead), a good weekend will be had by all. I Know that he will put on a good night on the Friday - the rest of the weekend is up to those that come and participate.

Waterdragon & spouse have already booked their room, along with Tig & badger (((in separate rooms!! :-) ))) No doubt Wigan will be there with Nancy. Possibly Col K and Col's Angel.

Wigan to do breakfast's at 4d a time!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;-)

P.M. us to book spaces for any camper vans and car spaces (limited space) One caravan available on site. ((?DUCKS ?))

We're still clearing up after Whitby - not helped by funerals, bouts of lumbago and lord knows how much laundry to process.
We've not had much time to visit Mudcat, and scarcely been in the same room at the same time, to discuss plans for the "distant" future.

can't believe it! i've been stuck in bed for only three days and now i'm able to sit up unaided i find you've let this thread sink to the bottom of the list!!
tig, i wasn't wandering around in my underpants! i just felt that with so many people at the bar i needed to lean against it so it didn't collapse.
seems like only tyke and davetnova want to bring campervans. taht means magician won't have to move his beer garden!!!
or is everyone sleeping in the bar to get a live show this year. YOU WISH!

Thats why I said as bad as last year - Us old timers NEED our beauty sleep , and when the session in the bar goes on till after four in the morning , and I am trying to sleep in the corner of the bar THAT is seriously BAD !!!! The silly thing is I am STILL looking forward to the weekend .

must have picked a bug. sommat like gastric flu.
symptoms-------- dyearea, dizziness as soon as i stood up, and more worryingly blacking out after dizzy spells.
no energy,couldn't walk more than about 20yds without a rest.
starting to recover,but i went to the shops earlier,about 150yds,had to sit down at the shop and then when i returned flopped into a chair and couldn't get up for about 15mins. total feeling of exhaustion,not helped by not eating since wed am. mind i've now tightened my belt by a notch!!!!
anyway,only missed out on a good night at the globe on fri and a big night out with friends tonight and not seeing my new lady tomorrow.
all will be well!!

I missed you on Friday Wigan - Badger and I took Magician and Gillie's keys off them for the weekend as they were infecting all the customers. Sounds like they got at you! It was a good night with Mundy and Turner and those who turned up enjoyed it.

Jane, I take it you WERE aching like mad by the next morning. Hope you are feeling a lot better now. Just because you wanted to irritate your head this early in the year :-)

sorry i wasn't there but i'll give you a doubly big hug next time.
magician had a cold a couple of weeks back and in a roundabout way passed it on to me. i saw him as i was recovering from that and he looked terrible.
i think that still having the remains of a cold is what made me prone to whatever bug i subsequently collected.
still,i'm recovering now and should be on top form come the bash. looking forward to it,and to meeting up with those i now consider old friends.
