Subject: RE: Tumbleweed Fest '04 this weekend From: MAG Date: 02 Sep 04 - 08:34 PM festival URL would require learning to do a blicky. I did it once so long ago i forgot. Mary, i'll be happy to say something about Sunnycamp. I gather the date was changed? I haven't followed thread, as getting a Saturday off requires asking 3 months ahead, and even then sometimes my boss says no just for the fun of it. |

Subject: RE: Tumbleweed Fest '04 this weekend From: Teresa Date: 03 Sep 04 - 01:16 AM Tumbleweed It looks great. There's a link that says "Make a blue clicky" at the bottom of the page, I think. (Sorry; visually impaired and don't know how to describe locations of things on the page ...) I was kind of hoping "Tumbleweed" would refer to a festival in Nevada. :) I may plan on attending the Western Folklife Center cowboy Fest next March, I believe it is, but it is on the other end of this very large state from me. Sigh. I am spoiled after living in the San Francisco Bay Area for years and taking the folk scene for granted. Ah well, I digress. Have fun. :) :) T |

Subject: RE: Tumbleweed Fest '04 this weekend From: MAG Date: 06 Sep 04 - 07:47 PM ahhh, I am recently home from this 2 day fest. It is the proverbial drink of water for this thirsty soul. I got to introduce many wonderful, wonderful performers. Corbin Keep describes himself as a Wild Cellist; he is just a wild, wild man. Eric Hansen; Art Hanlon; Crhis Roe; Electric Bonsai Band; my friends Mike and Shannon. Ten acts altogether (introduced by me)plus the concert and the pizza joint sing-along. Life doesn't get better than this. All this and peach season too. and Thai food. Ravadi Quinn is such a great cook. my apologies to the other food vendors, but Thai is just my fave. coming home to a pissed off kitty, laundry, a pit of a house and the prospect of work tomorrow. |

Subject: RE: Tumbleweed Fest '04 this weekend (4-5 Sep) From: MAG Date: 07 Sep 04 - 01:17 AM "Ten acts altogether (introduced by me)" actually it should have said, 10 acts on each day ... I was sorta hitting the wall by 4:00 Sunday, but not like the central committee. We had perfect weather, not real hot like usual. Reading about Fox Valley Festival has made me nostalgic, but then most anything about Chicago does. The hurricane stuff, although I feel for the people, only reminds me of my 3 years in Miami, and I don't miss it at all. The jacaranda trees were cool. That's about it. I'm real glad i got out before Andrew hit. I will cross my fingers and knock wood that Ivan doesn't make landfall. |
