Subject: ETHNOENGLAND 2005 NEW WEBSITE From: Linda Kelly Date: 02 Sep 04 - 03:47 PM The new Ethno England website is available, advertising next year's event. http://www.ethnoengland.co.uk If anyone is interested in participating and want to learn more about this week then please let us know, by PMing me, or by contacting Ethno England directly through the website. We would also be very interested in hearing from people who would be prepared to be volunteers for all or part of the week. You would be around some amazing musicians and dancers, including some of the top names in british folk music, which is some compensation to the hard work long hours and dismal rates of pay (what pay?). Tim Van Eycken described this years event as 'life changing' so come and find out more. |

Subject: RE: ETHNOENGLAND 2005 NEW WEBSITE From: eleanor c Date: 16 Jan 05 - 08:40 PM Yes, ageist , but looking at the list of sponsors I 'd add they support a lot of ageist visual arts events too. Non- practitioners of the arts have a very narrow imagination for what type of person might be starting their career , making important aesthetic developments , need support or benefit from promotion, and corporate sponsors like to have young attractive faces in their publicity material, The ages of my (art)students is 18 - 70+, and only some of them are eligible for most of the competitions, prizes etc Often the older ones are more skint than the kids still getting family ££ Yours, over the hill & haggard of Herts |
