Mr Happy, are you just losing your internet connection or is everything shutting down?

When I had sasser virus a few months ago, I kept getting notices that windows was shutting down, and then everything stopped working. When I brought up Task Manager (ctrl/alt/delete), you could see some really strange activity in there, with most of my computer's memory being taken up to run the bug. Turned out I actually had a couple of viruses - fortunately my son managed to get rid of them, plus some leftover bits of spyware.

On the other hand, if it's just the internet connection, have you rung your internet provider's help desk?

yes I am on Wanadoo- But I'm back now- Yipppeee!

Is Wanadoo particularly susceptible to these nasty things?

A pal gave me a antivirus cd- which I was able to load & it identified & cleaned up 5 viruses off my pc.

Its still got some glitches but I'm HAPPY to report how HAPPY I am to be back!
