I have heard this song "Strange Rain" by Tom Paxton some years back. It is a song about Hiroshima, black rain, etc. Would love to have a recording of it or lyrics at least. Been looking for years and the singer who sung it for me has passed away.

I couldn't get through to the database to see if this is already there, but you can find it in Oak Publications of a Tom Paxton songbook called "Ramblin Boy and Other Songs by Tom Paxton". Lyrics and music are there. I suggest you go to the top of this page, click on the catfish/banjo and order it from Amazaon.com or Barnes and Noble, so Mudcat can get a few pennies.

For those interested, there is supposed to be a CD out in January containing a bunch of songs from Tom Paxton's Elecktra recording days. Those first 6 or so albums have not been reissued on CD so a sampling of them is better than nothing. I doubt this song would be among the selections, so you better get the book too

Bobby Darin recorded STRANGE RAIN. It's on "Earthy!/Golden Folk Hits" (two 1963 LPs reissued as one CD). From a sound sample:

Don't know who uploaded this: Robbins & Paxton - Teen Angel/Strange Rain. It's only a sound sample and not complete, though.

This is actually released on a promo single record back in 1961 by Tom Paxton and Gil Robbins (manager of the Gaslight and father of Tim Robbins).
