Hello,

It's a non-smoking room at the back of the pub with good accoustics. At least nine real ales, plus Belgian beer on tap and in bottles. About as good a session pub as you can get!
It's a non-instrument session with the emphasis on chorus songs but ballads are most welcome.

Pub recently won CAMRA award - think it was best pub in Yorkshire but can't swear to it.

I have been - they have allowed my in on my Huddersfield passport so I guess anywhere else will be equally welcome! Its a great session, great pub great beer and I wish I could go this time but I am on babysitting duty - hope for next time

Georgiansilver, if by 'local' get together you mean one of those supposedly open but actually uncomfortably cliquey sessions where only the people who know each other get to do anything... No! It's definitely not one of those! We just want everybody who comes to have a good sing, lead as many songs as they want, join in as many choruses as they want, that kind of thing...

...hope you do come along, if not this evening then maybe to a future one? They happen the fourth Sunday of every month. It's been a bit quiet over the summer with people being away at festivals & on holiday and so on but rumour has it quite a few people should be along tonight.
