Subject: RE: Marilyn Middleton Fri1st Oct From: GUEST,Boab Date: 29 Sep 04 - 02:50 AM A wee Lassie with a big, big voice--and a real pleasant personality to go with it. Great blues exponent, has a love for Stan Rogers material---but get her to sing "Bedlam Boys"; top line! Lucky bunch---haven't heard Marilyn live for some years now. Enjoy.... |

Subject: RE: Marilyn Middleton Fri1st Oct From: breezy Date: 29 Sep 04 - 05:22 PM She is very quiet on the folk scene, but we just love her here. Chris Flegg is our resident jazz and blues man so maybe I'll get to introduce them to each other and who knows where that'll lead! It'll be a great night anyway. doors open 7.45 do come |

Subject: RE: Marilyn Middleton Fri1st Oct From: breezy Date: 01 Oct 04 - 04:55 AM Just been playing a video recording of marilyn from her visit to us 18 months ago. She is fantastic, her rendition of Bedlam Boys and her harmonising on the duet with our resident are in a class of their own. # It'll be a truly great evening |

Subject: RE: Marilyn Middleton Fri1st Oct From: GUEST,The Stage Manager Date: 02 Oct 04 - 06:47 AM Saturday Morning A 'Truly great evening' it most definitely was Breezy. Marilyn is certainly some class act, but with Fleggy sitting in......You don't get to witness too many evenings like last night! You kinda knew the spark had got to the blue touch paper, when after the first song with Chris on guitar Marilyn remarked "Whooo you're a flash bastard!" By the time we'd got through "Don't you just love a man who knows what to do with his hands" And the musical equivalents of exchanges like "Do you want to go on the Road?" "Are you insured?" "Do I need to be?" Everyone had really got into gear. I'm still tingling. SM |
