As part of the national Swarb Aid campaign currently being sorted out, there'll be a lively 'do' at Korks, Otley
on Friday 26th Nov with The Duncan McFarlane Band (electric) and others (will post other artists when known).
For a start, Alistair Hulett - who started this 'grass roots' Swarb Aid thing rolling will be winging down from Glasgow
to perform at this one too. More later - HFA

It'll be well worth the effort of going just to see DMcF. A true Performer with a big 'P'.

Other Swarbaid Events and everything else about the whole operation at http://www.swarbaid.org.uk. If anyone wants to organise a benefit concert or take part in one, it's not too late. Mail Alistair Hulett

Thanks for the info that Janet Russell's in the concert. Nobody's told me (I'm only the webmaster!) yet. Duncan, I'd be glad if you or someone involved could drop me an email if there's any other information worth adding to the events page on that one. I've made the names into web site links for most performers including you. A contact phone number for tickets and info (would that be Steve Fairholme?), or the location of a web site if there is one (I can't find one for Otley Folk club) start time etc...

mailto:webmaster@swarbaid.org.uk will reach me.

Anahata

Hi!
I'm sure they will Treewind - they just might not be 'in' and on their PCs tonight.
The news only came to me earlier and I popped it on here while answering yon merry quip.
Now.....
At Otley FC last night a flyer was distributed saying that doors will open at 8.30, tickets at £10 - a snip for the bill on offer - no doubt (as it's Friday night) it'll run on late.
I dunno if Steve F wants his phone number on here as regard ticket sales (he's not in right now to ask) - but if anyone wants to email me via my website www.duncanmcfarlane.co.uk then I'll pass it on to them directly.
The place holds 120 (fire regs!) so a sell out will get Swarb £1200 - then the raffle money too!
Come all ye! - Hugs - Duncan

Steve's email address is there anyway - he has it on the festival web site so I assume it's fair game. Actually his phone number's on the OtleyFF site too...

Anyway - SwarbAid site updated with times and ticket prices - cheers.

Anahata

Great news about Swarbs transplant! Fingers crossed now.

As Treewind has pointed out, the benefit gigs are still needed - support as many as you can folks!
This is the 'first' of the West Yorkshire events.

Hope to see you there! - Duncan

Duncan

I'm not even sure I'll get as far north as Bedworth that weekend, but I hope the Swarbaid gig on 26 Nov goes really well! And it is good news about the op.

Kitty

Ally Hulett's latest email update to me says Swarb's recovery is going well - fantastic!
But he also points out that the Swarb-Aid events that were being organised
(before the double-lung transplant took place last weeekend) are still neccessary and will, of course, go ahead as planned.
Get to one somewhere, nice people!
Dave and his family still need our full support till he's back gigging, recording and earning (!) once more.
Love to all - Duncan
(apologies for reproducing this on other related threads - the message getting through to all is more important than protocol, methinks)
