Subject: RE: BS: SECSY Silly Secret Santa/Santee Hints From: GUEST,Secret Santa to Poseidon Date: 05 Oct 04 - 12:11 PM or possibly Neptune? Aquaman? Triton? The Submariner? Aegir? boy at my age it's hard to keep track of the youngsters...Ao-kuang? or was it Chac-oayeb-xoc? Dylan? Manannan-MacLir? Nadan? Nereus? it was one of them watery god-types - maybe Ngurunderi? I'm pretty sure it wasn't Nicor or Nootaikok. whatever. So young fella, you like acoustic music - does that include acapulco? |

Subject: RE: BS: SECSY Silly Secret Santa/Santee Hints From: GUEST,Mingulay Date: 05 Oct 04 - 11:57 AM I can see this device attracting all sorts of unwanted attention from the Health & Safety bods as well as the insect cruelty lobby. Taping over the holes 'during periods of activity' might not work if the activity is spread over (for instance) an evening. Constantly removing and replacing the tape would hinder spontenaity and may not be enough to ensure the welfare of the contents. Would it need a CE mark? Would it need to be sterilised after use, if so, what about the wasps. Or is boiled wasp a delicacy? We seem to have opened up a whole can of worms here. Now there's an idea. |
Subject: RE: BS: SECSY Silly Secret Santa/Santee Hints From: Liz the Squeak Date: 05 Oct 04 - 11:48 AM Make sure you don't use double sided tape.... I'm impressed with the speed this has appeared..... and the even greater speed with which it plummeted to the common level!! SECSY LTS |
Subject: RE: BS: SECSY Silly Secret Santa/Santee Hints From: GUEST,Smiler Date: 05 Oct 04 - 11:47 AM Ming, they both come together, I understand they have asked for volunteers for testing. Greg, tape alergies could be a problem |
Subject: RE: BS: SECSY Silly Secret Santa/Santee Hints From: greg stephens Date: 05 Oct 04 - 11:28 AM While actually in use the airholes may well be of little use. Perhaps they should be taped over during periods of activity, to avoid sting related problems. |
Subject: RE: BS: SECSY Silly Secret Santa/Santee Hints From: GUEST,Mingulay Date: 05 Oct 04 - 11:26 AM Smiler - just ordering the tube for now, or are the wasps included? Just a small point but who is doing the testing, and will the results be published and, if so, where? |
Subject: RE: BS: SECSY Silly Secret Santa/Santee Hints From: GUEST,Smiler Date: 05 Oct 04 - 11:14 AM Ming, some very good points indeed and agree they need answering, I'll still order one but not use it until we have the test results. |

Subject: RE: BS: SECSY Silly Secret Santa/Santee Hints From: GUEST,Mingulay Date: 05 Oct 04 - 11:03 AM Does the cap screw on with a left or right handed thread. I only ask because it could make a difference whether it's being used north or south of the equator. A bit like the water down a plughole. Also, does one dare to make air holes so the creatures can breathe? What is the average diameter of a wasp sting? These questions, and their associated answers could prove vital. |
Subject: RE: BS: SECSY Silly Secret Santa/Santee Hints From: GUEST,Smiler Date: 05 Oct 04 - 10:16 AM I've decided I want one of those things from the helpful hints thread, its an empty aluminum cigar tube filled with angry wasps which apparently makes a wonderful inexpensive vibrator. |
