I just added a message to the lyric search for this song but it seems like a better idea to start a new thread.

This song was written by P.J.McCall (as has been noted elsewhere) and, though not well known, exists in lyric form on quite a few sites. Unfortunately, the tune is nowhere in evidence. Can anyone help? I'd prefer an abc version if poss.

As I said elsewhere: it seems that while "fiddle tunes" are very well represented on the web, song tunes are extremely hard to find.

Not that I know anything about this, but are you sure it isn't "Red O'Hanlon" as in the W B Yeats stories? That seems more likely than "Redmond".

It would be better to keep the discussion there, rather than starting an unnecessary new one which (as Mack's post shows) will only lead to confusion.
