I have got it in my head from somewhere that there is, or there is going to be a Transatlantic Sessions II.

Does anybody know if there is a second series of these wonderful progammes planned?

If there isn't, why not? There certainly should be. Am I alone in thinking so highly of these programmes?

Yes there is - and it's going on now - that is, if you can get BBC 2 Scotland! The fourth programme of (I think) 6 goes out at 11.15 on BBC 2 Scotland this Friday. Among the guests are Paul Brady, Sharon Shannon, Radney Foster, James Grant & Karen Matheson. I did think about posting about this fabulous programme a couple of weeks ago, but as I actually work for said Corporation in said country, I hesitated - it seemed too much like advertising!! However, I'm pretty sure it's a co-production, so I doubt we'll be the only ones watching it. Hope you get to see it soon Shambles!! Love Mo

That's it rub it in tell us poor cousins in Cornwall how wonderfull it is.
For some strange reason there are no plans to show the series south of Hadrians Wall.
I've already writen to the BBC(Brainless broadcasting company)but I doubt it will make any difference.
Regards Baz

And can I just add - having checked out the "Where in the world" thread again out of curiosity - Shambles - you've got the same problem as Baz - your south of the Great Divide too now. Bugger, I wish I'd said earlier, and you could have contacted friends in Shetland and get them to record it for you. Not that they may be able to this week anyway, given that the tail end of Hurricane Mitch kissed the Northern isles and wiped out the electricity. All I can suggest is bombarding White City with pleas for T.S. II to be networked - I'm sure Aly Bain would be delighted. Enough already! Mo

We can try and write in numbers, Baz,who did you write to at the BBC?

Thank you Mo for the video suggestion, I didn't think of that.

Did any one ever find out if the first series had a C.D. or the like attached to it ? If so, how can I get it?

Contacting the B.B.C. in nuumbers (be it large or small) is probably the only hope we've got, so let's get to it !

Me again....

It is a joint production with RTE and NVC by an independent company Pelicula Films. I haven't been able to find out yet whether there are any plans to release the progs on video or cd, but I have doubts that this will happen as we would normally be promoting availability at the end of the progs - and that isn't happening.

I won't say how good last night's programme was - it wouldn't be fair...... and anyway, as you know, I'm biased!

Mo

Aren't The Transatlantic Sessions 2 Marvellous? How I grieve for you who can't see them! Only one complaint- a bit too country/western at times and we could have done without the whiner with the air-guitar-- Eddi Reader. But who gives a damn. The rest of the crowd more than make up for it!

Sorry for the delay, This is what I recieved from the BBC. The more people that write, I would suggest, the more likely it is that we will see it.

If you do write please let us know here what is being said.

BBC Scotland wanted to show it first, like the first series I'm afraid.

We do hope to show the series in the New Year but I can only suggest you keep an eye on RADIO TIMES for more details as it is not placed yet.

Well, that's positive at least - if there were no plans to show it, that's what we would have been told. This shows it is being considered for networking. I agree with Shambles though - write in and ask for it, cos it's part of the BBC's charter to try and fill a demand, if possible!

If I hear word it's going to be shown, I'll let you know!

Mo

I did read recently that the series is to be shown in England again in the first part of the New Year and is to be shown abroad later in the year.
